Freezing Rain in Calzadilla de la Cueva

Don’t buy into that “Rain in Spain” nonsense from My Fair Lady. It falls everywhere and when it does, it can be anywhere from, “Look, isn’t that charming,” to “Damn, this has to stop soon, or …!”

Today was one of the latter rain events. 42 degrees when we left this morning and I’d bet the “feels like” temp was closer to 35. Wind whips across this flat terrain like quick turning pages in a book. It’ll smack you sideways, and walking becomes a real chore.

But thankfully, I’m the captain of my little boat and I decided just to get off the road when it got to be too much. I’ll start out early tomorrow and try to make up for lost time.

But then, it’s the walk that matters. Not the kilometers covered.
